Our family-owned business, which started out as a hobby, is celebrating over 50 years. We may not be the largest or the oldest hatchery, but without our customers, we would have been gone years ago.
Inside you will find a nice selection of high quality chicks and ducks at reasonable prices. Because we are unable to sex some breeds, those will be available in straight run only. Keep in mind that the roosters do make great fryers.
On hatch days, Tuesday, we are usually on a tight schedule with many birds and orders to fill. Because we are trying our best to get our orders shipped out as quickly as possible, we are not able to be tied up with lengthy phone calls. We apologize for the inconvenience, even though we love to hear from our loyal customers.
We are a family operation. We try and keep our prices as low as we can, but still have to try to maintain a profit. We maintain high-quality, healthy baby poultry as well as our adult flocks. Our close association with the post office ensures a safe delivery. Schlecht Hatchery is a member of the Bird Shippers of America.
